Anambra Police Crack Down on Cult Leaders: Two Arrested in Special Operation
The Anambra State Police Command has successfully apprehended two key figures believed to be the ringleaders of cults responsible for the recent surge in killings in Ihiala.
In a strategic move, the Police Crack Squad, deployed to Ihiala by Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, conducted a Special Operation aimed at ensuring the safety of the local population during and after the festive period. The operation resulted in the arrest of Chitana Oha, a 25-year-old male known by the alias “Kill and Bury,” and Emmanuel Ifeanyi Okonkwo, a 24-year-old male, who goes by the moniker “Good and Bad.”
Both suspects were apprehended at their hideout in Okija, within the same local government area where their alleged criminal activities took place.
“The Commissioner of Police, determined to eradicate cult-related violence in Ihiala, just as he successfully did in Awka Capital City, has instructed the Crack Squad to intensify efforts against the cultists and dismantle their operations. He reassured the public that their safety remains the top priority of the Command,” stated the Anambra police command spokesman in a press release on Monday.
