Anambra is Overdue to Join Mainstream Politics – Ganduje Urges APC Stakeholders to Defeat Soludo, APGA

Ahead of the 2024 Anambra State governorship election, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged party leaders and stakeholders to work towards defeating Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Ganduje made this call during the inauguration of the APC State Consultative Council in Abuja on Wednesday, emphasizing that Anambra State’s position in national politics is overdue for a change. He argued that Anambra, a strategically significant state, should not remain under opposition control.

Ganduje pointed out the political fragmentation in the region, with APC governing two states while APGA, Labour Party (LP), and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) control the remaining three. He questioned the region’s political influence and investment under such division and urged for a unified effort to center Anambra in Nigerian politics.

“Once we leverage politically for APC, we can ensure the South East regains its prominence, similar to what happened in the Second Republic,” Ganduje asserted.

Deputy National Organizing Secretary, Nze Chidi Duru, expressed confidence in the APC’s ability to challenge APGA, noting the party’s strengthened unity. Meanwhile, APC State Chairman Chief Bazil Ejike urged council members to devise strategies to secure governance in Anambra by 2025, stressing the need for collective effort and innovative ideas for the party’s success.
