Anambra: Arrest Made as Yahoo Boy Tries to Use Girlfriend for Money Ritual
In a shocking incident in Umuawulu, Awka South local government area of Anambra state, a Nigerian man identified as Ifeanyi Kalu was apprehended by a vigilant local group for attempting to use his girlfriend for ritual purposes.
Kalu, who admitted to being a “yahoo boy,” shared details in a now-viral video, revealing that he recently joined a “cult” where he was informed he could gain wealth by offering someone in exchange.
According to Kalu, he had confided in his friend Chiemelie about his plan to use his girlfriend to extract money from her parents. The duo then plotted to tie the girl up and use her for ritual purposes.
“I am from Abia state but live in Awka South with my friends. I do business online and have been getting money from clients since I started,” Kalu disclosed, adding that the motivation behind his drastic decision was the belief that sacrificing a person would yield financial gain.
Kalu went on to explain that the place he visited was akin to a cult, emphasizing that whatever promises were made had to be fulfilled. However, despite multiple visits, he claimed to have received nothing, leading him to contemplate using his girlfriend.
“I told Chiemelie that we will tie her up and use her to get money from her parents. I have never used anybody for ritual before,” he confessed in the video.
Efforts to obtain a statement from the Anambra state police PRO regarding the matter proved unsuccessful at the time of this report. The incident underscores the prevalence of occult-related activities and the need for continued vigilance within the community.
