Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has appointed seven new traditional rulers, including Sani Ahmadu Ribadu, the younger brother of National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu. The appointments follow the recent creation of seven new monarchies in the state, comprising five chiefdoms and two emirates.
The governor’s decision, announced on December 23, 2024, introduced four second-class and three third-class monarchies in response to public demand. The newly appointed rulers are:
Sani Ahmadu Ribadu as Emir of Fufore
Alheri Nyako as Tol Huba

This development brings the total number of chiefdoms in Adamawa State to 11 and emirates to four. The appointments are effective immediately.
