Abia State Governor Signals Support for Proposed “Big Brain Naija” Reality TV Show

The Special Adviser to the governor of Abia State on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, has hinted at the possibility of Governor Dr. Alex Otti supporting the proposed “Big Brain Naija” reality television show. This comes in the wake of widespread disappointment over a viral video circulating on social media, showing Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemates struggling with basic questions related to current and national issues.

The brain behind this innovative idea, Charles Awuzie, a Nigerian South African-based businessman, expressed his disappointment with the lack of intellectual content in BBNaija. In response, Awuzie swiftly registered the domain ‘BigBrainNaija.com’ as an intellectual alternative to the popular reality show.

Ferdinand Ekeoma took to his Facebook page to share his thoughts, stating that Governor Dr. Alex Otti would support this initiative wholeheartedly. This statement was met with enthusiasm from Awuzie, who hails from Abia State himself. Awuzie expressed his delight, saying, “Learning that the people’s governor, Dr. Alex Otti, will support Big Brain Naija has made my day. I am coming home.”

However, the proposal for the Big Brain Naija show has sparked a lively debate on social media platforms. While some support the idea, believing that BBNaija lacks moral and creative value, others argue that BBNaija serves its purpose as an entertainment show.

Kon Tat, one of the proponents of Big Brain Naija, went a step further by suggesting that the show should be situated in Abia State, mirroring the location of BBNaija, which is currently based in Lagos.
