“Abia Aligns with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” Says Governor Alex Otti
Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has expressed his administration’s commitment to the Federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the health sector, aiming to enhance access to quality healthcare delivery across the state.
During a visit by Dr. Salma Ibrahim, Special Adviser to the President on Health, and her team, Governor Otti emphasized the convergence of objectives between Abia State and the Federal Government. Despite political differences, Otti stressed a shared dedication to advancing common goals.
“Even if we’re not in the same party, we are on the same pedestal,” Otti remarked, highlighting the alignment of his administration with the Federal government’s agenda. He underscored his government’s initiatives, including increased healthcare budget allocation, accreditation restoration for the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, salary payments for health workers, and efforts to combat maternal and child mortality rates.
Governor Otti reiterated his administration’s readiness to collaborate with the Federal Government to enhance healthcare services for the populace.
Dr. Salma Ibrahim, in her address, urged for collaboration between Abia State and the Federal Government to accelerate health sector transformation outlined in President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. She emphasized the need for sustained efforts in reducing maternal and child mortality rates nationwide.
Commending Otti for his commitment to healthcare, Dr. Ibrahim pledged Federal government support for Abia State’s health policies, noting the Governor’s increase in healthcare budget allocation by 15 percent.
The visit signifies a collaborative effort towards achieving enhanced healthcare access and delivery, reflecting a shared commitment to prioritize public health in Abia State.
