Ajayi has last week accused the Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, of bribing lawmakers with N10 million each to impeach him after he defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), last month. An accusation the Governor denied.
To impeach Ajayi, the Assembly needs two-third majority which is 18 members.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ifedayo Abegunde, on Monday resigned his appointment. Abegunde had alleged that Akeredolu did not win the 2016 gubernatorial election in the state as some prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), rigged the election in his favour. He also alleged that the Governor awarded contracts to his wife, son and in-laws from Imo state.
The former SSG described Akeredolu as the worst Governor he had ever worked with.
