23-Year-Old Man Allegedly Kills Father with Machete After Returning from Church in Cross River
A 23-year-old man, identified as Bassey Ubi, has allegedly killed his father with a machete in Cross River State.
The incident occurred on Sunday around the O-3 Palace area in Usaja, Ikpakapit Ward, Ugep, in Yakurr Local Government Area. Residents said the suspect carried out the attack shortly after returning from church.
The reason for the killing has not been established.
Angry residents reportedly attempted to lynch the suspect before police officers arrived at the scene and took him into custody.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Sunday Eitokpah, confirmed the incident on Monday.
