Yoruba Nation Agitators Issue Ultimatum, Warn of Further Havoc Amid Oyo Invasion Fallout

Tensions escalated as Yoruba Nation agitators issued stern warnings, vowing to unleash further havoc unless their arrested compatriots were released by security forces. The recent invasion of the Oyo State House of Assembly stirred the confrontation between agitators and authorities, amplifying concerns over regional stability.

In a bold statement, Victor Adewale, the Deputy Coordinator of the agitators, threatened repercussions targeting notable figures like President Bola Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde if their demands were not met promptly. The agitators, emboldened by their cause, intensified their calls for action, setting a volatile stage for potential conflict.

Furthermore, the discovery of additional hideouts and weaponry on the premises of the University College Hospital in Ibadan added fuel to the fire. The police, responding to reports from vigilant locals, engaged in a dramatic confrontation, resulting in the arrest of two suspects amidst an exchange of gunfire.

Amidst the chaos, the Man ‘O’ War organization distanced itself from one of the arrested suspects, highlighting the complexity of identifying and isolating individuals involved in the unrest.

In contrast to the agitators’ fervor, prominent figures like the Ooni of Ife urged restraint, dismissing the agitators’ actions as attention-seeking endeavors devoid of genuine representation of Yoruba interests. The Ooni emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in addressing national challenges, underscoring the need for constructive engagement over divisive rhetoric.

Meanwhile, the Oodua Progressives Union (OPU), a Yoruba diaspora organization, vehemently denied involvement in the Oyo invasion, reaffirming its commitment to promoting Yoruba culture and unity on a global scale. Chief Victor Adewale, the Publicity Secretary of OPU, clarified misconceptions linking him to the agitators, stressing his dedication to peaceful advocacy and community-building efforts.
