Woman Allegedly Beats 11-Year-Old Daughter to Death Over Missing N100
A tragic incident has rocked the Zaria community in Kaduna State, where a woman identified as Khadija allegedly beat her 11-year-old daughter, Fadila, to death over a missing N100. The money, reportedly given to the family during the recent Sallah celebration, sparked a violent altercation when Khadija accused the young girl of stealing it.
According to reports by Leadership, Khadija, in a fit of anger, allegedly used an object to beat Fadila, leading to the girl’s untimely death. Residents claim this was not the first instance of abuse, noting that Khadija was known to frequently subject Fadila to beatings, particularly related to the girl’s street hawking activities.
The girl’s father, Malam Mustapha Musa, said he was at work when the incident occurred. He returned home to the devastating news of his daughter’s death and has since transported her remains to their hometown in Kano State for burial.
Khadija has reportedly admitted to beating Fadila but denied any intention to kill her. She attributed her actions to the severe emotional stress she was experiencing at the time.
Local vigilante members were the first to respond to the scene before handing the case over to the police, who are now conducting a formal investigation.
