Wave of defection in Imo state house of assembly after shocking supreme court verdict
Nine lawmakers of the Imo state House of Assembly, have defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC. The deputy speaker of the house of assembly Okey Onyekanma has also resigned his position. It is not immediately clear what his next steps will be.
The lawmakers consist of 4 members from the AA, 1 from APGA and 4 from the PDP.
This is happening sooner than expected after the shocking supreme court ruling removed PDP’s Emeka Ihedioha and instead declared Hope Uzodinma of the APC as governor last week.
