Video: El-Rufai Fleeing From Angry Traders
Angry traders and youths on Monday hurled stones at the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai at the demolished Kasuwa Berchi market in Tudun-Wada.
El-Rufai was on an inspection tour of the demolished market around 5pm on the day of the incident when angry traders on sighting him started throwing stones at him and raining curses.
In the ensuing pandemonium, the governor was hurriedly smuggled into his car and driven away by soldiers and police in his convoy who shot sporadically in the air to disperse the mob.
The mob called him “Barawo” (Hausa word for ‘thief’).
