US: Popular Talk Show Host Ellen DeGeneres Relocates to England Following Trump’s Reelection

Renowned American talk show host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres has reportedly left the United States following Donald Trump’s second presidential victory. According to a report by TMZ, Ellen and her actor-wife, Portia de Rossi, have relocated to the Cotswolds, a picturesque region in South West England, approximately two hours from London.

Sources with “direct knowledge” of the couple’s decision revealed that Ellen and Portia, disillusioned by the election results earlier this month, decided to leave the country permanently. Although they had purchased their English countryside home prior to the elections, Trump’s reelection reportedly solidified their decision to move. The couple’s Montecito, California home is now listed for sale, and they previously sold another mansion in the U.S. for $96 million.

The Cotswolds area, known for its idyllic landscapes and celebrity residents, will now count Ellen and Portia among notable figures such as David and Victoria Beckham, Elizabeth Hurley, and Kate Moss.

Ellen, 66, and Portia have been vocal supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump’s Democratic opponent in the 2024 election. Ellen actively endorsed Harris on social media, describing her as “a woman whose time has come” and expressing anticipation for her presidency. In addition to her public support, Ellen also contributed $3,300 to Harris’ campaign.
