US Election 2024: No Third Debate as Trump Declines Kamala Harris’ Offer
Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he would not participate in a third debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump made this statement via his Truth Social platform, emphatically writing, “THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!”
This development comes after Trump’s previous debates with President Joe Biden in June, and most recently with Harris on Tuesday. The Harris campaign had challenged Trump to a follow-up debate following their encounter earlier this week, signaling an eagerness to continue the discussions. However, Trump dismissed the possibility of another face-off.
Speaking on “Fox & Friends” earlier, Trump suggested he was unlikely to agree to a rematch. On Thursday, he firmly confirmed his decision, citing what he described as a clear victory in the recent debate. He alluded to the common desire for a rematch when a fighter loses, suggesting that the Harris campaign’s push for another debate was rooted in their perceived loss.
