Tinubu Surrounded by Wrong People, Needs to Reshuffle Cabinet – Former Presidential Candidate
Malik Ado-Ibrahim, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), has called on President Bola Tinubu to overhaul his cabinet, stating that the current team is hindering the president’s ability to deliver on his vision for the country.
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s *Sunday Politics*, Ado-Ibrahim expressed concern over the quality of individuals in Tinubu’s administration. He argued that the president has failed to convert his ideas into tangible progress due to the shortcomings of those around him.
“In my opinion, most of what the president has, as far as his cabinet is concerned, should be refreshed. They’re done,” he said. He emphasized the need for capable administrators rather than appointments based on political considerations, adding, “There’s no knowledge that one person can possess alone. There are smarter people out there.”
Ado-Ibrahim stressed that leadership should go beyond assigning titles, urging the president to choose individuals who can effectively implement policies. “He needs to give people more confidence. You can’t just give a guy a post and say, ‘You’re a health minister, go do healthy stuff.’ You need an administrator,” he added.
