“Threats to My Life Are Intensifying” – IPOB Lawyer Ifeanyi Ejiofor Sounds Alarm
Ifeanyi Ejiofor, legal counsel for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has appealed for public and international attention over escalating threats to his life and the safety of his family.
In a petition dated December 29, 2025, Ejiofor described what he called a deliberate campaign of intimidation and hostile conduct against him. He said the threats have intensified in recent weeks, prompting him to formally document the situation.
A native of Oraifite in Anambra State, Ejiofor noted that initial warnings about the danger he faced prompted expressions of concern from members of society across different sectors. Despite these reactions, he said the threats have continued and worsened.
“I previously raised a public alarm regarding credible threats to my life and that of my family. While many well-meaning individuals responded with concern, the threats have persisted and intensified,” the petition stated.
Ejiofor confirmed that he is currently at his ancestral home in Oraifite, Anambra State, with his family for the Christmas and New Year period.
