“There Will Be Everlasting Consequences”: Iran Reacts to U.S. Airstrikes
Iran has issued a stern warning to the United States, promising “everlasting consequences” after American forces carried out airstrikes on three key nuclear sites in Iran. The strikes mark a dramatic escalation in tensions amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in a statement on the social media platform X, condemned the attacks and declared that Tehran “reserves all options” in its response.
“There will be everlasting consequences,” Araghchi wrote shortly after the U.S. operation.
The coordinated strikes targeted Iran’s Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz nuclear facilities. U.S. President Donald Trump later claimed the sites were “completely and fully obliterated,” adding in a post that “all planes are now outside of Iran’s airspace” and “safely on their way home.”
A senior U.S. official confirmed that, in addition to aerial strikes, approximately 30 Tomahawk missiles were launched from American submarines.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has led Israel’s military campaign against Iran, publicly praised the U.S. intervention.
“Your bold decision to target Iran’s nuclear facilities, with the awesome and righteous might of the United States, will change history,” Netanyahu said in a video message directed at Trump.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei condemned the U.S. actions as “a recipe for an all-out war in the region.”
The situation remains volatile, with global leaders expressing concern over the potential for broader conflict in the Middle East.
