Tensions Rise as Governor Fubara Vows to Surprise Challengers
Amidst the escalating political tensions in Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara has delivered a stern warning to those challenging his authority. In a bold statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Governor Fubara asserted his readiness to surprise anyone who dares to test him, particularly those interpreting his adherence to the presidential peace pact as a sign of weakness.
The governor clarified that his decision to promptly implement the peace initiative, orchestrated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and accepted by all stakeholders, was an act of respect towards the presidency. However, he lamented that some political actors misinterpreted his humility and compliance as a vulnerability.
Addressing members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) during a solidarity rally at the Government House Gate in Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara emphasized the overwhelming support his administration continues to receive from the people of Rivers State.
He expressed his commitment to governing with integrity and the fear of God, reaffirming his dedication to serving the populace despite facing unwarranted criticism and challenges. Governor Fubara underscored the importance of maturity in leadership, highlighting the need to rise above pettiness and focus on impactful governance.
Furthermore, Governor Fubara reflected on the legacy he intends to leave behind, emphasizing the significance of positively impacting lives and implementing policies for the betterment of society, free from any form of corruption or inducement.
