Suspected Cultists Unleash Terror in Awka, Leaving One Dead
One person lost their life at the bustling Aroma junction in Awka, Anambra State, as suspected cultists unleashed terror in the area. The incident, which occurred around 6:48 pm on Wednesday, caught many off guard as shops and businesses were winding down for the day.
The victim, identified as a tricycle revenue collector from Amudo village in Awka, reportedly fell prey to the assailants who trailed him from the Ifite area. The attackers ruthlessly shot him at close range at a filling station, a popular stop for buses and tricycles in the area.
The chilling event has sent shockwaves through the capital city, with tension palpable among residents. The deceased, once a keke operator himself, fell victim to the escalating violence attributed to suspected cult activities in the state.
Authorities are yet to make any official statements regarding the incident, leaving residents anxious about their safety amidst the rising unrest.
