Supreme Court Reserves Judgment on Binani’s Appeal Against Adamawa Governor
The Supreme Court has decided to withhold its judgment in the appeal brought forth by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Aisha Dahiru, widely known as Binani, challenging the legitimacy of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s victory in Adamawa state.
Despite previous dismissals by the tribunal and the Court of Appeal regarding Binani’s petition against Fintiri’s win in the last year’s gubernatorial election, the Supreme Court has now taken center stage in determining the final verdict.
The five-member panel, presided over by Justice John Okoro, adjourned the proceedings for judgment after carefully considering the arguments presented by all parties involved in the case.
During the hearing, Binani, represented by her counsel Akin Olujimi, emphasized the contention that the controversial declaration made by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Ari, should be deemed lawful.
