Deities, Cabals Benefited from Subsidy, Forex Crisis – Gov Hope Uzodinma
In a recent interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State disclosed that “cabals and deities” were the prime beneficiaries of the disparities in foreign exchange and subsidy payments, a situation he claimed President Bola Tinubu has taken steps to rectify.
According to Governor Uzodimma, these mysterious entities played a role in the economic challenges facing the nation, emphasizing that the removal of the fuel subsidy and unification of foreign exchange windows by President Tinubu were pivotal in addressing this issue.
Uzodimma expressed his findings, stating, “In my understanding of the country, there exist cabals and deities, who before dollar business can be conducted, must be worshipped.” He alleged that these groups were behind artificial media sponsorships and opposition propaganda aimed at discrediting President Tinubu.
The governor argued that the recently removed fuel subsidy had disproportionately enriched a select group of cabals, leading to the rapid accumulation of wealth at the expense of ordinary Nigerians. He criticized the billionaires who, he claimed, took advantage of the subsidy to acquire private jets and build extravagant properties worldwide.
Addressing the departure of certain companies from Nigeria, Uzodimma contended that these were not genuine investors but entities benefiting from the existing cabal system. He saw their exit as an opportunity for indigenous companies to thrive.
Responding to criticism of President Tinubu’s economic policies, Uzodimma defended the measures, stating that they were designed to consolidate the economy and strengthen the Naira. He acknowledged the initial challenges in the economic recovery process but emphasized the long-term goal of a robust and resilient national currency.
