Super Falcons’ Chiamaka Nnadozie Nominated for 2025 Ballon d’Or Yachine Trophy
Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been nominated for the 2025 Yachine Trophy, the prestigious Ballon d’Or award that honours the best female goalkeeper in the world.
At just 24, Nnadozie has had a stellar year. She recently made a high-profile move to Brighton Women FC, following an outstanding run with Paris FC. Her standout moment came in the 2025 Coupe de France Féminine final, where she led Paris FC to a dramatic 5–4 penalty shootout victory over Paris Saint-Germain after a tense goalless draw in Calais. The win marked Paris FC’s first major title in nearly two decades.
Nnadozie’s dominance extended to the international stage, where she played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The Super Falcons secured their record 10th continental title by defeating host nation Morocco in the final. Nnadozie was named Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament and also featured in the WAFCON Best XI.
She joins a competitive list of Yachine Trophy nominees, including Ann-Katrin Berger (Gotham FC), Cata Coll (Barcelona Femeni), Hannah Hampton (Chelsea Women), and Daphne van Domselaar (Arsenal Women).
