Son Stabs Father to Death After He Refuses to Support Second Marriage Plan
A Kano High Court has ordered the remand of Aminu Ismail, who allegedly stabbed his father, Malam Dahiru Ahmad, to death in Unguwar Bai Village, Ajingi Local Government Area.
The incident reportedly occurred following a heated argument between father and son over Ismail’s plan to take a second wife. Malam Ahmad is said to have opposed the idea, citing the current economic hardship, which reportedly escalated the dispute.
According to the prosecution, led by Barrister Abba Lamido Sorondinki, the accused informed his father of his intention to marry again. The discussion turned violent, during which Ismail allegedly stabbed his father multiple times in the chest, causing fatal injuries.
Ismail has been charged with homicide under Section 221 of the Penal Code. The court has ordered that he remain in remand pending further proceedings.
The case is ongoing at Kano High Court No. 7, Municipality.
