Kano Hisbah Arrests Seven Suspected Cross-Dressers, Seals Off Youth Hangout
The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested seven young people suspected of cross-dressing and engaging in immoral activities at a popular location along Zoo Road in Kano Municipal. Sheikh Mujahid Aminudeen Abubakar, the board’s Deputy Commander General, confirmed the arrests to Radio Nigeria.
All seven suspects are under the age of 23 and were apprehended following a tip-off from a concerned citizen who reported unusual gatherings at the site and frequent visits by different vehicles. Investigations revealed that the suspects hail from Kogi, Bauchi, and Kano states. During the operation, Hisbah officials also apprehended a young man and woman found together inside a tricycle.
In a separate incident, the board successfully traced a missing young woman to Sokoto and reunited her with her parents. Sheikh Mujahid stated that the location would be sealed for allegedly hosting underage youths involved in immoral conduct, and both the suspects and the facility’s operators would be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.
He reaffirmed Hisbah’s commitment to curbing social vices in Kano and encouraged residents to report any suspicious activities to the board or other authorities.
