Soludo’s Wife Reaches Out to Brutalized NYSC Member
The wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has reached out to Ms. Jennifer Elohor, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who was recently assaulted by operatives of the state vigilante outfit, Agunechemba.
A viral video showed Elohor being brutalized and stripped naked by the security operatives after they reportedly invaded her lodge. The incident has sparked outrage across the country, with many Nigerians calling for the disbandment of the group.
In response, Dr. Soludo placed a call to the corps member on Wednesday to sympathize with her and assure her of support. She also invited Elohor to the Government House for a personal meeting.
According to an aide to the governor, Elohor had already left the state at the time of the call but expressed appreciation for the governor’s wife’s gesture.
“She (Mrs. Soludo) asked her to reach out once she returns to Anambra. The corps member was touched by her humility and felt pacified. We are expecting her here very soon,” the aide said.
