“Inhuman and Unacceptable”: Amamgbo Reacts to Brutal Attack on Corps Member, Demands Security Overhaul
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Senatorial Candidate for Anambra South in the recently concluded bye-election, Barrister Donald Amamgbo, has condemned the assault on National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Jennifer Elobor, in Anambra State, describing it as “inhuman and unacceptable.”
In a statement released by his media team, Amamgbo said the incident once again exposed the flaws within the state’s security system. He maintained that no society aspiring for progress should ever permit the dehumanization of its youths, particularly corps members who sacrifice to serve their fatherland.
Calling for urgent reforms, Amamgbo demanded a total overhaul of the security architecture in Anambra to restore public trust and confidence. He stressed that security agencies must be manned by well-trained operatives with proper orientation on professionalism, human rights, and modern security ethics. He further insisted that those arrested for the attack must face justice to set a firm precedent against future abuses of power.
Expressing solidarity with Jennifer Elobor and her family, the ADC candidate assured Ndi Anambra South of his commitment to advocating for policies that protect lives, dignity, and rights. He emphasized that leadership is not restricted to public office holders alone but to every individual determined to contribute to building a fairer and safer society.
