“Soludo’s Re-election Is a Testament to Visionary Leadership” — President Tinubu
President Tinubu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as the governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as an affirmation of his visionary leadership and commitment to progress.
In a statement released from the State House on Sunday, Tinubu said Soludo’s overwhelming victory in the November 8 election makes him only the third governor in Anambra’s history to secure a second term.
The president commended the people of Anambra, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring a peaceful and credible poll. He praised Soludo for his “discipline, grace, brilliance, and fresh perspective” in governance, adding that Anambra is truly living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation under his leadership.
Tinubu recalled his visit to Anambra in May, where he inaugurated projects executed by the Soludo administration, describing the experience as remarkable. He urged the governor to be magnanimous in victory and to work with his opponents for the state’s continued development.
The president also reaffirmed his support for Soludo and expressed optimism for continued collaboration between the Anambra government and the Federal Government.
Tinubu further lauded INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan and his team for conducting what he described as a credible election, encouraging the commission to maintain and improve its standards to strengthen Nigeria’s democracy.
