“If You Are Crazy, Campaign for Atiku or Obi in Yorubaland” — Sunday Igboho Backs Tinubu Second and Third Terms

Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo has warned opposition figures Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi not to campaign in the South-West ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

In a video circulating on social media on Sunday, Mr Adeyemo — widely known as Sunday Igboho — said supporters of the two politicians would face resistance if they attempted to mobilise voters for them in the Yoruba region.

“No more useless Atiku or Obi in Yorubaland,” he said. “If you know that you are crazy, campaign for one Atiku or Obi in Yoruba region.”

Mr Adeyemo also expressed strong support for Bola Tinubu, saying the South-West would continue to back the president beyond the next election cycle and suggesting support for a third term.

“Tinubu for second term; beyond 2027. One hundred per cent. After eight years of Asiwaju, we will pray for extra years. Throughout Lagos and Yorubaland, it is for Asiwaju. We will all vote for him,” he added.

The remarks come less than two months after Mr Adeyemo returned to Nigeria on January 26, 2026, ending several years in exile after his name was removed from the Federal Government’s wanted list.

His return followed appeals by several traditional rulers, including Rashidi Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland; Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife; and Francis Alao, the Olugbon of Orile Igbon.

Mr Adeyemo fled Nigeria on July 1, 2021, after security operatives from the State Security Service and the Nigerian Army raided his residence in Ibadan, Oyo State, over allegations of stockpiling arms and ammunition.

The raid occurred during a period when the activist was campaigning against armed herders operating in forests across the South-West, whom he accused of carrying out killings and kidnappings targeting farmers.

Following the incident, his bank accounts were frozen and he was declared wanted during the administration of Muhammadu Buhari, despite court rulings that favoured him.
