Tinubu Orders Rice Distribution Nationwide for Ramadan and Lent
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to begin distributing rice across all states to support Nigerians observing Ramadan and Lent.
The initiative, announced in a statement on Saturday by the Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, is intended to strengthen national unity and provide assistance during these periods of religious reflection.
Under the programme, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will coordinate distribution through their network at state, local government, and ward levels, ensuring families nationwide receive support.
Uzodimma highlighted that the effort reflects the administration’s commitment to fostering compassion and solidarity among Nigeria’s diverse faith communities. “Ramadan and Lent are seasons that remind us of sacrifice, charity, and care for one another. Through this distribution, families across Nigeria will experience a sense of togetherness,” he said.
The statement noted that a similar programme was carried out during the last Christmas season, reinforcing the administration’s ongoing support for citizens during key religious and cultural periods. Both Muslim and Christian communities are expected to benefit from the distribution.
