Shakira Announces 2026 World Cup Song “Dai Dai” Featuring Burna Boy
Shakira has announced a new collaboration with Nigerian Afrobeats artist Burna Boy for the official soundtrack of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The Colombian singer shared a short preview of the track on her X account on Thursday. The song, titled “Dai Dai”, is scheduled for official release on May 14, ahead of the tournament’s kickoff in June.
In her post, Shakira confirmed the track as the official World Cup song and referenced its upcoming release while tagging Burna Boy and FIFA. The tournament is expected to begin on June 11, with Mexico facing South Africa at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
The collaboration adds Burna Boy to the list of Nigerian artists involved in World Cup music projects. He follows Davido, who featured on the official soundtrack for the 2022 edition in Qatar.
Beyond World Cup appearances, Burna Boy has also taken part in other global football-linked projects, including a UEFA Champions League soundtrack collaboration with Becky G and a performance at the 2023 Champions League final in Turkey.
It has not been confirmed whether he will perform at any official ceremonies during the 2026 tournament, including the opening match in Mexico City or the final scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
