Sex Worker Arrested for Stabbing 48-Year-Old Client to Death During Encounter
A commercial sex worker, identified as Joy Kelvin, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly stabbing her client, 48-year-old Felix Okafor, to death. The incident occurred early Monday morning at Okafor’s residence in the Jakande Housing Estate, Lekki.
According to the police, the fatal stabbing took place during the pair’s overnight encounter, with the attack happening around 5:32 a.m. Okafor was immediately rushed to the General Hospital in Marina but was pronounced dead upon arrival by medical personnel.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police spokesperson, confirmed the arrest and provided further details on the case. “The suspect, Joy Kelvin, allegedly stabbed Mr. Okafor during their time together. Detectives from the Ilasan Division arrived at the scene around 7:20 a.m., conducted an initial investigation, and documented the crime scene.”
The body of the deceased has been transferred to the General Hospital Morgue in Yaba for preservation and an autopsy, while police continue their investigation. Efforts are also being made to notify Okafor’s family.
The police are currently working to uncover the full circumstances surrounding this tragic event, and Kelvin remains in custody as investigations continue.
