Security Operation Uncovers Three Corpses in Suspected IPOB Camp in Imo State

In a significant crackdown on criminal activities, security operatives conducted a joint military operation, code-named Operation Udoka, in Imo State. The operation targeted a notorious camp situated in Ezioha forest, within the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the state, believed to be operated by members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its militia affiliate, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

Led by Brigadier General Usman Lawal, Commander of the 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Imo State, the raid aimed to dismantle criminal networks operating in the area. General Lawal highlighted the forest’s notoriety for harboring criminal activities, including the torture of high-profile kidnap victims. The forest, which spans across three local government areas – Oru East, Njaba, and Mbaitoli, was reportedly under the control of a suspected IPOB commander known as B44.

During the operation, security forces uncovered a shallow grave within the forest, exhuming three corpses. Additionally, they seized numerous car registration number plates, vehicle particulars, car keys, and personal belongings believed to belong to victims of kidnapping incidents.

The successful raid signifies a significant blow to criminal elements operating within the region. Authorities remain vigilant in their efforts to maintain peace and security in Imo State, promising continued operations to root out criminal activities and restore law and order.
