Retired General’s Killers Paraded in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command paraded the alleged killers of retired General Uwem Udukwere in Abuja on Monday.

According to the FCT police commissioner, CP Benneth Igweh, the suspects were involved in the armed robbery that led to General Udukwere’s death at his private residence in Sunshine Estate, Abuja, early Saturday morning.

The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Rabiu, Nafiu Jamil, Aliyu Abdullahi, and Mohammed Nuhu, were arrested in Apo, a satellite town of Abuja. CP Igweh disclosed that the arrests were made following credible intelligence by operatives from the Utako division, led by CSP Victor Godfrey, who tracked the suspects to their hideout.

During the parade, the police commissioner stated that the suspects confessed to stabbing the retired brigadier general when he resisted their attempt to take his pistol. The police recovered the knife allegedly used in the crime and the late general’s phone. However, two of the robbers escaped with the general’s pistol and are still at large.

CP Igweh assured the public that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects and recover the stolen pistol. The suspects will face charges in court upon the completion of the investigation.
