Robbers Invade Estate in Abuja, Kill Retired Army Brigadier-General
Earlier today, armed robbers attacked Sunshine Homes estate in the Lokogoma area of Abuja, resulting in the death of a retired Nigerian Army Brigadier General, Uwem Harold Udokwere. The incident occurred around 3 a.m.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police have confirmed the attack. Commissioner of Police Benneth Igweh has ordered “a discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding this regrettable event.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, issued a statement saying, “In response to the tragic and unprecedented attack at Sunshine Homes estate by armed robbers, resulting in the untimely demise of Brigadier General Uwem Harold Udokwere (rtd.) on June 22, 2024, at approximately 03:00 a.m, the Commissioner of Police, FCT, Benneth Igweh has promptly ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding this regrettable event.”
Expressing his condolences, CP Benneth Igweh assured the bereaved family and the public that swift justice would be served, emphasizing that every effort is being made to apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous act.
