“Report is false, baseless” — PGF denies Uzodimma’s removal as chairman
The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has dismissed reports suggesting that its chairman, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, has been removed from office.
In a statement released on Thursday by its Director General, Folorunso Aluko, the forum described the claim as inaccurate and misleading, adding that no meeting was held to reach such a decision.
The PGF said it became aware of what it called a false report circulating across media platforms alleging leadership changes within the body.
It stressed that there is no record or resolution indicating that Uzodimma has been removed as chairman.
“The Progressive Governors Forum states categorically that the report is entirely false, baseless, and without truth,” the statement said.
The forum added that its secretariat was not aware of any process or decision affecting the leadership position currently held by Uzodimma.
It reaffirmed that the Imo governor remains in office as chairman of the forum and said the group continues to operate with a focus on its ongoing engagements and coordination among member states.
Progressive Governors Forum maintained that its structure remains intact, while reiterating that Governor Hope Uzodimma continues to serve as chairman.
