Putin Vows Swift Response to “Barbaric” Moscow Attack
In a televised address, Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the recent assault on a concert hall near Moscow, branding it a “barbaric terrorist act” and promising severe repercussions for those responsible.
“All four perpetrators of the terrorist attack who shot and killed people have been detained. They were traveling towards Ukraine where, according to preliminary information, they had a window to cross the border,” Putin declared, assuring the nation that swift action had been taken to apprehend the assailants before they could escape.
The attack, which claimed the lives of over 100 innocent civilians at the Crocus City Hall, sent shockwaves through the region. Putin emphasized the gravity of the situation, proclaiming Sunday as a day of national mourning in Russia.
While the Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the assault, Russian authorities have yet to confirm this assertion. Nevertheless, Putin reiterated his commitment to bringing justice to those responsible, declaring that “terrorists, murderers, non-humans will face the unenviable fate of retribution and oblivion.”
The incident has prompted heightened security measures and a renewed sense of vigilance in the wake of this tragedy.
