President Tinubu to Spend Easter Holidays in France, Presidency Tells Nigerians

The Presidency has confirmed that President Bola Tinubu will spend the Easter holidays in France, assuring Nigerians that his absence from the country is temporary and that governance continues without interruption.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Presidency emphasized that President Tinubu remains fully engaged with national affairs despite being abroad. It added that his return to Abuja will take place after the Easter celebrations, in line with the earlier communicated timeline of approximately two weeks.

President Tinubu departed Abuja for Paris two weeks ago. At the time, presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga stated that the President was expected to return after a fortnight. Following rising concerns from critics and opposition voices regarding his continued stay overseas, the Presidency has sought to reassure the public.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains fully engaged in Nigeria’s governance even though he is away in Europe,” the statement read. “His absence remains temporary and in line with the communicated timeframe. The President left Paris for London at the weekend and has maintained constant communication with key government officials.”

It also disclosed that the President has been overseeing critical national matters from abroad, including giving directives to security chiefs in response to emerging threats in some regions of the country.

The Presidency reaffirmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to his responsibilities and assured citizens that his administration continues to operate efficiently in his absence.

“We appreciate the public’s concern and assure all Nigerians that governance proceeds without interruption,” the statement concluded.
