“President Tinubu Should Bring Back Experts Like Yemi Osinbajo, Others Not Just ‘Ranka Dede’ Praise Singers” – Bala Mohammed
Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, Bala Mohammed, has called on President Bola Tinubu to assemble a capable team similar to the one he had during his tenure as governor of Lagos State. Mohammed emphasized that Tinubu should seek advisors like former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and ex-Minister Kayode Fayemi rather than those who offer him blind praise.
In an interview with Daily Trust, Mohammed criticized Tinubu for failing to implement effective policies that promote development across Nigeria, contrasting his presidency with his past successes in Lagos. He expressed disappointment, stating he initially had high hopes for Tinubu’s leadership.
“I had high hopes that when he becomes president he will bring the same magic he brought to Lagos. But I was mistaken,” Mohammed remarked. He stressed the need for the president to listen to constructive criticism and engage with knowledgeable individuals who can contribute positively to governance.
Highlighting the inadequacies of the current administration’s economic policies, particularly concerning fuel prices and public welfare, Mohammed stated, “The government’s economic policies… are not working. Our monetary policies are failing.” He urged Tinubu to prioritize collaboration with experts from various fields to revitalize the nation’s economy and address pressing challenges.
