Police Rescue Three Kidnap Victims in Abia, Recover N2 Million Ransom

 

Three kidnapped victims have been rescued by operatives of the Abia State Police Command, who also recovered a ransom sum of N2 million during the operation. According to a statement released on Monday by the command’s spokesperson, Maureen Chinaka, the successful rescue took place around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday following a kidnapping report at Afojide Market in Isuochi, Umunneochi Local Government Area.

 

The rescued individuals were identified as Onyedikachi Onyegesi, 42, from Akpou, Isuochi in Abia State; and Ifeanyi Nnabuife, 44, and Amarachi Nwaebubu, 26, both from Anambra State. Items recovered during the operation include a red Lexus 350 SUV, the N2 million cash believed to be part of the ransom, three mobile phones, and two shackles used by the kidnappers.

 

Police said several suspects linked to the abduction have been arrested and are currently being interrogated. The state Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in Abia.
