Police Rescue 23 Kidnapped Victims in Kaduna Joint Operation
Security operatives in Kaduna State have rescued 23 kidnapped individuals in a coordinated operation involving the police and military. The Kaduna State Police Command confirmed the rescue in a statement issued on Sunday by its spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan.
According to Hassan, the joint operation was led by the Divisional Police Officer of Kajuru Division alongside military personnel. Acting on credible intelligence regarding the movement of bandits in the Kajuru area, the security forces advanced into the bush near Doka Village in Kajuru Local Government Area. There, they encountered a group of armed bandits attempting to relocate their captives to Kajuru Forest.
During the confrontation, security forces inflicted heavy casualties on the bandits, forcing them to retreat into the forest with gunshot wounds. This led to the successful rescue of 23 victims, who had been reported kidnapped in Kauru Local Government Area. The rescued individuals have since been reunited with their families.
Authorities have intensified surveillance and patrols in the area to prevent further criminal activities. The Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, reassured the public of the command’s commitment to maintaining security across the state. He emphasized that the police would continue working in alignment with Governor Uba Sani’s security agenda and in collaboration with the military and other security agencies to combat crime and ensure peace in Kaduna.
