Police Nab Two Thieves with 55 iPhones, 33 Androids in Delta
The Delta State Police Command has arrested two men involved in the purchase and resale of stolen phones in Warri. These suspects, identified as Abibu Haruna, 37, and Sanusi Huruna, 22, were apprehended in Hausa Quarters, Warri, thanks to credible intelligence.
The operation led to the seizure of a bag containing 55 iPhones, one HP laptop, two Android tablets, and 33 Android phones. The arrest took place on July 14, 2023, at approximately 4:45 pm, as detailed in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe.
Further investigation revealed that Haruna and Huruna purchased the stolen devices from two armed robbers known only as Nasiru and Ghala, who are also based in Hausa Quarters, Warri. The suspects confessed that they transported the phones to the Niger Republic hidden in a trailer carrying scrap materials. Their operation was allegedly funded by an individual named Agaji, who resides in Niger Republic.
