Police Nab PoS Operator Allegedly Supplying Sex Workers to Bandits
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has apprehended a Point of Sale (PoS) operator, Sunday Musa, also known as Dan Gwari. He is accused of supplying sex workers and providing logistical support to bandits in their camps in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Benneth Igweh, the FCT commissioner of police, revealed during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday that Musa was arrested in a coordinated clearance operation by the anti-kidnap unit. Musa is believed to be a key informant and logistics supplier to a banditry group led by a fugitive known as Ardo.
The suspect allegedly facilitated the movement of nurses, hard drugs, and sex workers to the banditry groups on request. Additionally, Musa confessed to acting as a financial courier, distributing over N20 million to the bandits’ families.
The police also arrested a 41-year-old housewife, Ruqquaya Ibrahim, who is accused of supplying food and other essentials to the bandits. Ibrahim, a resident of Sabon-Wuse in Niger State, reportedly confessed to delivering food items to a group commanded by Shumau, another fugitive.
Ibrahim was apprehended in the Gidan-Dogo forest while en route to deliver supplies to the bandits. She subsequently led the police to Shumau’s residence, where they recovered 14 rustled cows.
