Plot to Infiltrate ADC Coalition Has Failed, Says Phrank Shaibu

The Special Assistant on Public Communication to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Phrank Shaibu, has declared that attempts to infiltrate and destabilize the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition have failed. In a strongly worded statement released on Sunday, Shaibu accused elements responsible for Nigeria’s current challenges of trying to hijack the coalition’s leadership but assured supporters that the plot had been exposed and defeated.

Reacting to comments by Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, who suggested that the ADC should adopt Peter Obi as its presidential candidate, Shaibu criticized the unsolicited advice, describing it as part of a calculated effort to sow discord within the coalition. He argued that those who “failed Nigeria” have no moral standing to dictate the direction of a platform built to rescue the nation.

“The very day we unveiled our platform, Festus Keyamo wasted no time in revealing their plan by recommending Peter Obi. This wasn’t an act of goodwill—it was a deliberate attempt to spark internal conflict and break the momentum of unity we’ve worked so hard to build,” Shaibu said.

He accused political actors of employing divide-and-conquer tactics, using planted narratives to stir suspicion and disunity within the ranks of the ADC coalition. According to Shaibu, similar infiltration attempts were made during the 2023 elections, where agents were allegedly used to disrupt internal cohesion.

“These forces thrive on confusion and internal conflict. Their aim is simple: weaken our bond and break our resolve. But this time, Nigerians are awake. The people see through the manipulation,” he stated.

Shaibu maintained that the ADC coalition remains focused and undivided, emphasizing that its strength lies in its unity and grassroots-driven movement. “They fear our unity because it is the one thing they cannot control. They fear our movement because it is powered by the people. They have no vision, no record, no future—only fear and desperation. But we’re not backing down. We are ADC — all the way.”
