As preparations intensify for the Anambra State governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially announced the cost of its nomination and expression of interest forms.

According to a statement from the party, the nomination forms will be sold for N35 million, while the expression of interest forms will cost N5 million, bringing the total fee for aspirants to N40 million.

In a letter addressed to Chidi Chidebe, Chairman of the Anambra State PDP chapter, and copied to Sunday Ude-Okoye, National Secretary of the PDP, as well as members of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC), the party detailed its election timetable.

The document, signed by PDP National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, and dated February 13, outlined the key dates in the election process. The sale of nomination and expression of interest forms will commence on February 24 and conclude in March, with the final date for form submission set for March 7.

A critical stakeholder interactive session with the NWC is scheduled for March 10 at the PDP National Headquarters in Wadata Plaza, Abuja. Aspirants will undergo screening on March 11, followed by an appeal process for disqualified candidates on March 14.

On March 19, the NWC will meet to approve and release the list of cleared candidates. Ward congresses to elect three ad hoc delegates per ward will take place between March 20 and March 21, while a local government congress to elect one delegate per local government area (LGA) is scheduled for March 27.

The PDP Anambra State governorship primary is set for April 5, with an appeal committee to handle disputes from the primary election on April 8.

The party’s candidate will be awarded the Certificate of Return on April 10. Following this, the PDP will submit the names of its governorship candidate and running mate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on May 22.
