“PDP Is Dead” – Fayose Declares Amid Deepening Party Crisis

Ayodele Fayose, former governor of Ekiti State, has insisted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is “dead” and no longer functions as a viable political force in Nigeria.

Speaking on *Politics Today*, a Channels Television programme, Fayose said the opposition party had failed to resolve its internal crises, which have now crippled its structure nationwide.

“I said about a year ago that the PDP was in trouble. If the party failed to find a solution on time, it would die — and today, the party is dead,” he stated.

His comments came shortly after a Federal High Court in Abuja, for the second time, barred the PDP from holding its 2025 National Convention, which was scheduled for November 15–16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Fayose further alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had successfully drawn some PDP governors into its fold.

“The Governor of Taraba has been handed over to the APC National Chairman by President Tinubu. The Governor of Plateau will soon leave the PDP, and after him, another governor will follow,” he added.
