PDP Crisis: National Assembly Caucus in Closed-Door Meeting with Board of Trustees
In a bid to resolve the ongoing internal crisis plaguing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), members of the party’s National Assembly caucus are currently in a closed-door meeting with the Board of Trustees (BoT) at Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja.
The BoT, often regarded as the conscience of the party, has expressed deep concerns over the current state of affairs. This meeting is part of a series of efforts aimed at addressing the key issues that have led to internal divisions within the PDP.
Prior to this, the BoT, under the leadership of Senator Adolphus Wabara, has held discussions with several key stakeholders, including Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. On Wednesday, the BoT also met with Bauchi State Governor and PDP Governors Forum Chairman, Bala Mohammed, as part of its peace-building mission.
Among the central issues being discussed are the fallout from Wike’s loss in the party’s presidential primaries and the continued tenure of the acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum.
