Pastor Kumuyi Invited to Trump’s Second Inauguration in Washington
Pastor William Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM), has been invited as a special guest to the inauguration of Donald Trump for his second and final term as President of the United States. The event, scheduled for January 20, 2025, in Washington, D.C., will bring together global leaders, including the Nigerian cleric, who is expected to participate in key engagements during his visit.
Pastor Kumuyi acknowledged Trump’s contributions to religious freedom, highlighting his support for Christian values during his first term. “President Trump’s stand for the gospel is not without recognition, not just by American Christians, but all Christians globally,” Kumuyi stated. He recalled Trump’s efforts in promoting religious liberty, including hosting the first-ever meeting of foreign ministers focused solely on international religious freedom.
During his time in the U.S., Pastor Kumuyi will meet with members of Congress, American church leaders, and media representatives. Speaking on the significance of the occasion, he emphasized the role of faith in shaping policies and fostering Christian unity. “This moment in history reminds us that faith transcends borders and unites believers worldwide,” he said. “As we gather in Washington, D.C., the global church stands together in prayer and purpose, advocating for faith-based dialogue to shape policies that uphold religious liberty and foster the growth of Christianity worldwide.”
The cleric, who traveled to the U.S. with his wife, Esther, has been vocal about the need for Christians to embrace change to enhance the spread of the gospel. In a recent address to his church’s global audience, he urged believers to adopt new approaches to evangelism. “We cannot continue to do things in the same way and expect better results. We need to interact with the gatekeepers to further spread the gospel of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ,” he said.
