“Our Job Is Half Done with Nigerians Suffering” — ADC

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared that the worsening hardship and hunger across Nigeria has made its task easier as it prepares for the 2027 general elections. The party believes the suffering under the current administration is enough proof for Nigerians to seek a new political alternative.

Speaking in Ilorin, the Interim National Publicity Secretary of ADC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, a former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, urged voters to support the party, assuring them of urgent reforms including a drastic reduction in fuel prices and the eradication of hunger.

“Our job is half done with the current hunger in the land,” Abdullahi said. “Nigerians don’t need anyone to convince them they’re suffering. The challenge now is convincing them that we, the ADC, represent a real and different alternative.”

He criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), blaming its policies for the economic hardship facing Nigerians. “The current administration has inflicted immense suffering on Nigerians,” he said. “Fuel prices have skyrocketed, and N5,000 now is not even worth what N500 was before APC came to power. Everyone, from vulcanizers to parents, is feeling the pain.”

Abdullahi accused the APC of deliberately destabilizing opposition parties to eliminate political threats ahead of the next election. He claimed this was what drove “dignified politicians” from across several parties to unite under the ADC banner, including members from the PDP, SDP, NNPP, and Labour Party.

He promised that if elected, the ADC would focus on immediate solutions. “We will eradicate hunger—I know what it means to be hungry. Fuel prices will be brought down significantly so that businesses can breathe again. And we will restore security to communities.”

Highlighting the growing insecurity in Kwara State, Abdullahi recounted how areas like Patigi, Ifelodun, and Babanla have become dangerous due to banditry. “I own a farm in that region, but it’s not safe to go there now. This is not the Kwara State we used to know,” he lamented.

Abdullahi assured that the ADC is united and focused on restoring peace and stability to the country. “By God’s grace, our mission is to return comfort, dignity, and safety to the Ndrigerian people.”
