One Dies in Anambra Road Crash
Anambra State witnessed a tragic accident on the Nteje-Awka-Onitsha Expressway on Saturday, resulting in one fatality. The crash occurred opposite the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Unit Command.
According to eyewitnesses, the collision involved two vehicles: a Toyota Camry with registration number ABJ125JV, driven by Chinweuba Chidiebere, and a Ford Explorer with number plate ZBL626RL. Reports indicate that the Camry lost control, veering into the lane of the Ford Explorer and causing the crash.
Margaret Onabe, the acting Sector Public Education Officer for FRSC in Anambra State, confirmed that three male adults were involved in the incident. One man was pronounced dead at Chira Hospital, while the other two were unharmed. The deceased’s body was taken to New Jerusalem Mortuary in Nteje.
Onabe attributed the accident to a loss of control and emphasized that FRSC teams managed traffic and cleared the obstruction caused by the crash. Sector Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi expressed condolences to the victim’s family and urged motorists to remain vigilant and focused while driving.
