Ondo State Acting Governor Freezes Ondo LG, LCDs Accounts
Ondo State Acting Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has taken a decisive step by freezing the accounts of the 18 Local Government Areas and 33 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state.
In a formal communication addressed to the local councils, the Acting Governor issued a directive stating, “Distinguished HOLGAs, Your Excellency, the Acting Governor of Ondo State, has directed that all spending/expenditure from local government accounts should be suspended. No signing of cheques, no change of signatories, no withdrawal of any sort until further directive.”
The letter further emphasized, “Please adhere strictly to instructions and be guided.” This development is expected to have significant implications for the financial operations and planning of the affected local government entities in Ondo State.
